A Story of Growth

Bryan Reid Sr. established Pioneer Log Homes of British Columbia, a
handcrafted log home building operation, in Williams Lake, British Columbia in 1973. This location (approximately 350 miles north of Vancouver, BC) has provided excellent access to the world`s finest stands of Spruce, Pine, Fir and Western Red Cedar.

Before making the career choice that Pioneer Log Homes was founded on, Bryan spent several years learning the almost lost art of handcrafted log building from a Native Indian named Samson Jack.

As the years passed and the "Pioneer Family" grew, it became apparent that close family support was necessary to balance all aspect of the succesful operation.

The first family member to come on board was brother, Andrè Chevigny, who trained under Bryan Sr. to become a Master Builder in his own right. Today, André is Pioneer`s General Manager overseeing the day to day operations required to keep three building sites and the overall production running at maximum efficiency.

Son, Bryan Reid Jr. trained with both André and Bryan Sr. to become a Master Builder. Bryan Jr. now oversees the training and operations of the 153 mile Nimpo Lake building site.

Brother, Keith Reid, owns and operates MasterCraft Cabinets, Windows and Doors and provides the custom wood windows, doors, and cabinets for many of Pioneer Log Home's customers.

Brother, David Chevigny, trained under Bryan Sr. to learn the basic craft of log building and in 1987 moved out on his own, establishing Pioneer Logging. Pioneer Logging works with Pioneer Log Homes to secure and harvest timber.

Today Pioneer Log Homes of British Columbia emerges as a comprehensive state of the art handcrafted log building company, recognized throughout the world as the industry leader.
